Sailing Lessons

JWS offer sailing lessons for beginner's using our fleet of Pico dinghies. Learn how the dinghy works with the wind, all the ropes, terminology and safety at sea.

Lessons are usualy on a Saturday morning starting from £30 per lesson.  

JWS also offer a range of RYA Dinghy sailing lessons.

RYA LEVEL 1 START SAILING

Learn how to start sailing, no previous knowledge is required as you will be taught how to sail in all directions and how to launch and recover the dinghy.

After the course you will be able to sail in light winds under supervision.

RYA Level 2 Basic Skills to Level 1 Standard.

This will teach you how to set up the rigging, launching and sailing in all directions. Practice capsize recovery and essential safety knowledge.

After the course you will be able to sail and make decisions in good conditions.

RYA Level 3 Better Sailing

Enhance your skills and develop techniques with a range of tasters from the advanced modules.

After the course you become more confident and pick up better sailing skills and techniques. You will also be able to progress onto the advanced modules.

Wind Surfing Lessons

Learn how to windsurf, start on a training rig to get a feel for the board and sail after that move onto the water.  Using large stable boards and training sails you will quickly learn how to steer and turn and pull up the sail.

RYA Power Boat Level 2 Training

The RYA course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to be a competent powerboat driver and it is the basis of the ICC (or to give it its full title, International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft). Using our RIB, the course aims to teach you about boat handling and seamanship, with a focus on high and low-speed handling, launching and recovery and collision avoidance regulations.

An RYA handbook is included with the course.

This is a two day training course with on the water practical sessions and land based sessions.

RYA PWC Training Course for Jet Skis

JWS offers the RYA Jet Ski (PWC) Proficiency course. The aim is to make you into a competent Jetski rider and be safe in your marine surroundings by teaching you a range of practical handling skills on the water and through a few theory topics on land, these will include weather & tides, navigation and collision avoidance regulations.

This will help you start to making the right decisions as to what conditions to be aware of and where you can go.

On successful completion  of the course you will be issued with your RYA Personal Watercraft Proficiency Certificate. This certificate is recognised world wide.

Course covers, Launching & recovery, Low & High Speed Handling, Man Overboard Recovery, Coming Alongside, Basic Navigation, Weather & Tides, Collision Regulations and Emergency Situations.   

Duration: 1 Day

Course Fee £300 pp
